Annie Mosher: Music

Good Radio

(Annie Mosher)
2004-07-04
I wrote this song about a great guy who lived in Nashville for many years, trying to battle his demons and play music. He was better at the playing music part. Argyle Bell was a wild-eyed, wild-haired musician who loved, LOVED music, and could be found anywhere there was a jam going on downtown or at the Shirlock Holmes Pub - - he'd show up with his mandolin and his red running shoes, unkempt, unbridled, he was a trip. I saw him bolt through the doors of clubs Kramer style more times than I can count. The guy was ubiquitous. On the phone at Kinko's shouting "I need a drummer for tonight! Irish! Irish music!" He was scarfing a Guinness pie at Seanachie before it succumed to the perils of downtown Nashville. He was skulking around the Station Inn, wishing he were up there with Jim Rooney and John Prine. He was, he is, everywhere. Argyle, you will be missed.
